Let’s get moving...and get a little sweat worked up too. Our Vinyasa Flow classes focus on uniting your body with your breath as you flow from one pose to the next. Linking the breath with the physical postures is where the magic happens! Students are often instructed to inhale with one pose and exhale with the next, moving (or flowing!) through a sequence of poses back-to-back. These sequences will help increase flexibility, strengthen and tone muscles, and allow you to tune into your body’s own rhythm. Our creative and dynamic Vinyasa classes move at a slightly faster pace than some of Hatha or Iyengar styles. *Beginners and all levels welcome.

10:00 - 11:15amKundalini: Cultivating Shuniya
Whether we feel secure and satisfied or unsettled and unhappy, our state in any moment reflects the frequency of our consciousness. Transforming and raising our vibration requires access to an awareness which is beyond physical and mental activity. To discover the realm of Shuniya, or the Zero Point, we relax and still the body and mind. It is in this stillness, where we can place our ego aside and find balance. Once there, the release of tension, pain, memories of past trauma and the refinement of our positive creative focus becomes available.

6:00 - 7:00pmKundalini: Chanting thru the Chakras
The chakra ("wheel") system is made of eight energy centers, seven in the body and one in the aura. Working on the chakras by stimulating the kundalini energy through the practice of Kundalini Yoga positively affects the health, balances the glands, and creates a sense of well-being. After a powerful pranayama practice and movement kriya to balance the chakra system, we will experience an 11 or 22-minute mantra meditation. This class is for all levels of experience.

6:00 - 7:15pmIyengar Yoga with Vicky
Though it may sound odd and slightly complicated, Iyengar Yoga is great for beginners and it’s our passion at Austin Yoga Tree. Our Iyengar teachers help beginners and seasoned yoga students understand each pose, or asana, by providing clear verbal instruction with a focus on proper alignment. You’ll not only practice yoga but also build a foundational understanding of each pose. For this reason, you’ll often find AYT teachers in class right beside you enjoying their own personal practice. Some of the poses you can expect in an Iyengar class are Mountain Pose, Triangle Pose, and Downward-Facing Dog (or Down Dog). Props are your friends in this class - blocks, bolsters, blankets, and even the Yoga Wall come in handy. In the words of B.K.S. Iyengar: "It is through the alignment of the body that I discovered the alignment of my mind, self, and intelligence." *Beginners and all levels welcome
